Flexi Film Project shares Young People’s voices on a national stage
The Flexi Film Project, What You Know About Youth, continues to build momentum as it prepares to be presented at the upcoming Doing Schools Differently conference in June.
Over nine months in 2025, the project visited 23 Flexi Schools across Australia, capturing the voices of more than 300 Young People through 53 hours of interviews. Designed with Young People at the centre, the project invited them to shape the conversation, identifying the issues that matter most and developing questions for their peers.

What emerged is both honest and powerful. Young People spoke candidly about their experiences of education, often contrasting past schooling with their time in Flexis. At the heart of their message is a simple but important call: listen to us, and work with us.
As the documentaries move into production, the project will be used to support advocacy, education and sector engagement. Presenting at Doing Schools Differently offers an opportunity to share these insights more broadly, encouraging educators to continue creating environments where Young People feel safe, connected and empowered to participate.
